Did you stand up straight but stay relaxed? I think I stood up and stayed relaxed. I did not use my hands much however.
Did you pause for a moment before you began your speech? I did not pause before my speech in the video. I think that I did pause before the actual speech.
Did you look at your audience? I mostly looked at the audience. However I think I was looking between everyone.
Did you let your facial expressions naturally reflect what you were saying? I did not really use facial expressions. However my presentation was less story/emotional and more factual.
Did you use your hands? I did not use my hands whatsoever. I mostly kept my hands in my pockets.

For each of the following questions, describe what went well and what you could improve in the area of VOICE. Write two complete sentences for each question.

Did you speak loudly enough so that everyone could hear you? I don't think I spoke loudly enough for the camera. I think this would imply that I wasn't able to be heard by everyone.
Did you change your tone to show how you felt (upset, excited) about an idea or to emphasize a point? I don't think I changed my tone much. However I used more words to explain that.
Was your speed of delivery too fast, too slow or just right? I think my delivery was a little bit too slow. I think this because I seem slightly tired in the movie.

General questions:
Write two complete sentences for each question.

Did you practice your speech at home before giving it? I did not practice my speech at home. However I did practice in the car once with some friends.
What did you notice that you did well in your speech? I had lots of facts. There might have been slightly too many but facts are good.
Describe one aspect of public speaking you will work to improve? I will try to use my hands more. I will also try to talk louder.

Dear Holograms That Don't Exist

Do you think
that you might
someday exist?
That someday
people could see
in 3D
anything that
they wanted to?
I hope we can
because i want
a holoprojector.

Just to Say (Redux)

I plagiarized the poem
of plums in the icebox
and wrote my own
with a mango
i couldn't think
of anything
so it sort of worked
please don't kill me
i made this poem
so people might
be happy

Just to Say

I ate the mango
that was in the fridge
it was chilled very nicely
and tasted so good
you probably wanted
it for breakfast
please forgive me
i probably should
have given you some

I am in all
I am around all

What If?

What If?

What if people were telekinetic
(a big long word that means
moving things with your mind)
we'd all be fat from lack of exercise
(unless, of course, we all evolved)
we wouldn't really need machines
(except for (near)perpetual things)
we could build things much easier and faster
with less danger to almost every one involved

My Monster

The Zenexicon
(for want of a better name)
The Zenexicon is a strange creature somewhat like a bat but with a few characteristics of a bug. It has almond-shaped red eyes that have no pupils in them. The ears look like very long bat ears. The mouth looks like an elongated ant's mouth, that might be some sort of exoskeleton. The face has mask-like coloring around its eyes. This creature has four arms and two legs which all have very large claws on them. The knees are bent backwards. It has a strange upside down heart-like shape on its chest and striped arms. The wings are like those of a flying squirrel in that they go between the two arms and leg on each side. They are very thin so that you can almost see veins in them. Like a bat it is covered with very short brown and grey fur. It has a long tail with an arrow-head shaped peice of bone at the end. This is assumed because of the yellowish white color of the spike. They live in caves that contain many stalactites and stalagmites of a strange glowing pink substance. They always live in pairs and stay in the same cave for life.

Gingerbread House!

Today I am talking about my gingerbread house! Well it's not actually a house, but it's a lighthouse! However this is a very strange lighthouse because it has a UFO in it... And it's crashing! There is also a rowboat (without oars) that has presents in it made out of Applets and Cotlets. There is a Santa with a licorice hat and Jelly Belly boots. The lighthouse has candy cane/barber (I guess) stripes in red and white.
Here is a poem:

The Gingerbread House

A gingerbread house,
with red and white stripes,
A small UFO,
crashing into the light.
The aliens are not around
(maybe they teleported
back to their cloud)

A part of the lighthouse is gone
And all all the people are
Seemingly completely oblivious
Which isn't completely strange
Because they're gingerbread.

Chopsawing Frozen Bread

Here is the most hilarious "How To" video of this entire next year!
The only reason this happened is because there was frozen bread in the freezer and we were hungry.

Leif Eriksson Claymation

For the past quarter Kellen and I have been making a claymation movie on Leif Eriksson. All of the movies had seven scenes, a title and credits. The finished products are all quite good.

The most enjoyable part, hmmm, I liked taking the pictures. Mostly that's only because it had nothing to do with the six year old computers. I also liked actually making the figures because they were slightly customizable. They also didn't have anything to do with the computers.

Definitely the most difficult part was the eight year old computers. Ours were so slow that once we wasted an entire class period trying to transfer one item! It took at least five minutes to save anything. It also kept on deleting a quicktime file that would have been useful. They had a looooong lag time too. Well, for mast of it at least.

The most interesting thing I learned was probably that it is usually a good idea to have a dedicated stop motion software.

Aki Con

Last weekend I went to Aki Con, an anime and manga convention. (Japanese animation and graphic novels). There were two different movie rooms, one dubbed and one subtitled in English. There were artist booths and a big room with vendors and a sword fighting arena. They also had a game room that had a lot of Nintendo systems in it. There was a Guitar Hero contest and a Mario Kart contest and another contest that I don't remember. There were sword fighting matches from 11:00 to 2:00ish and the person that won the most matches won a weapon of their choice. (I think). There was also a Main Stage area where there was a Question and Answer forum with people from the English dubbing of FullMetal Alchemist, a TV show that was playing in the dubbed movie room. Almost everyone there was in a costume of some sort, and a lot of them were actually quite strange. This is the first convention I have ever been to so I had a lot of fun finding out about this and conventions in general. There is another anime/manga convention in Seattle later and I am thinking about going to it. I am making a story myself (or trying to at least) but I cant think of a plot so there are some problems with it. However I already have the main character drawn and some background so it's not completely un-started.

WELDING!

Last weekend I learned to do welding. My birth father, Dave came with all of the stuff and showed me and my dad how to use an ARC welder. I learned how to lay a good "bead" before actually welding anything together. I made a rather weird sculpture probably fit for a garden. We had a bunch of scrap metal from one of my dad's friends who also does welding. He has an ARC welder and a gas welder. Dave spent the night with us. In the morning we had pancakes and then continued welding. I had actually made two sculptures that I ended up putting together. An ARC welder works by running electrical current through metal to a welding rod to melt it to the metal to stick it together. The rod is coated in flux, a substance used to cool it so the welding is easier. Here is a poem.

The Welder
A Poem by Isaac

Making a strange sculpture,
Welding gun in hand,
Grinder on the ground
Beside him,
In front of it
He stands

As he contemplates his sculpture,
He looks at the metal lying there,
Covered in rust,
He grinds it off,
Then,
Welder in hand,
He welds it on.

And he stands there looking again,
And he stands there thinking again.

Line Rider

Line Rider is a really fun game in which you draw lines and make a sledder go down them while trying not to (or maybe trying to) make him crash. It is a very simple game that is an ideal time waster. The first track I saved had a really tall jump that managed a back flip. It then went off another jump to an outward spiral. Most of it was accelerator lines though so it was pretty easy to get it to work. Then I messed with it and it stopped working, which was sad because it was rather long and it worked well. There is a new Line Rider (Line Rider 2) that's out for computer, Wii D.S. and iPhone/iPod Touch, I haven't played it though so I don't know much about it except that you can share tracks and I think there are two new characters to choose from. I don't know about the characters though. There is a Line Rider Mobile now too but I don't know if that's new or not. HINTS!!! (Most of you probably know these already but they're here anyway) 1. If you press the space bar the mouse turns into the hand. 2. Do not use the flag if you are editing anywhere even close to the earlier areas before the flag. This can mess up the whole thing because the flag exactly the same way as when you put it there and if you take it off the sledder might crash at the very beginning. QUESTIONS!?!? One more thing. How do you take a snapshot of the sledder?? Please post the answer in a comment!!!

My Life Graph

This summer we with my grandma and cousin drove to Rhode Island from Washington for a family reunion. It was really fun. The car trip was about _ weeks long so it took a while but it was fun. We saw Niagra Falls and had fun finding stuff out about it. We also saw Mt. Rushmore and had fun there it was hot though so it wasn't perfect but we did have fun. When we got there we stayed for 10 days in a hotel with a pool. We played a really fun game kind of like pool volleyball in that we had a line for the sides but we tried to keep the ball in the air instead of hit it down on the other side. My cousin also got the Spore Creature Creator and had lots of fun with that, but we mostly stayed in the pool or the hot tub (it said no one under 17 unless accompanied by adult but we did it anyway). We had good food for the weekend of the actual reunion but it was good enough anyway while it wasn't the reunion. We did a tour of the Museum of Work and Industry, that was interesting too. We took a boat tour of the Blackstone river that is a national historic waterway. We also went to the Slater Mill which was the first mechanised mill in America. Samuel Slater's mill partner, David Wilkinson was my dads ancestor. MORE COMING NEXT WEEK!!!

MY TRIP TO ALASKA Part 2

At my cousin's house we played a game called wood and metal. There are four materials that you can choose from. These are wood, metal, plastic, and ground. Ground can only be picked with plastic because that has the least material between the four. The "it" chooses two materials (as noted above) and can't touch the others. The other people can go an anywhere except on the ground. however this only works on wood, metal, and plastic playgrounds. If that doesn't work use the available colors. It is a very fun game to play at any local park with some friends if you're bored. We played this for three or four hours at a time for two or three days in a row. After we got home however we played Rock Band for an hour or so and that was really fun too. We also played World of Warcraft and Mario Kart Wii which was also really fun. then my uncle, mom and I designed a game board for a game my cousin and his friend(s)(I don't know which) made. It's a zombie attack game where you lead a squad of people and kill the zombies. (I guess)*shrug*.

MY TRIP TO ALASKA

We left in the afternoon to catch a red eye flight to Anchorage where we got a rental car to get to my uncle's house. In the morning I hung out with my cousin and some of his friends at the local park. Then we went to a rehearsal dinner for another of one my cousin's wedding. then we got back and went to bed. The next day we went to the wedding and ate very good cake with raspberries on it. then I took pictures. We went back to my uncle's house to, essentially, live there for the last two days of our stay. the next day we went to my mom's cousin's house and spent a while there before going to a barbecue at my other cousins house. We left for the airport early and caught a flight to Fairbanks, where we used to live, to see all of our friends there. We stayed at my best friend's house while we were there. During that time, a week, I had two dentists appointments in four days! I got some pirates packs,a constructable strategy game (you build little plastic ships and run them around the table) so we played that. We also went to Grapefruit Rocks and did some rock climbing and played some Magic, the Gathering. We went to Fielding Lakes and stayed there for a night and played Farkel, a dice game, and I got second place, twice. We also played cards. On the way there we ate at Rika's Roadhouse for lunch. It was good. Then we went back to my friend's house. They had to go to school though, so we couldn't really play until he got back, which was sad. Then we came back here on an afternoon flight through Anchorage and got back here at 9:30ish.

Welcome to my blog

WELCOME!!!!!
This is my second blog so you can check out the other one too!!!
